Learn how the drive chain and gearing work on your motorcycle – how to adjust your chain tension, inspect the chain and sprockets for wear, and replace them. This is also handy if you want to change your current sprockets to get more umph or create a more comfortable highway RPM for commuting.

You will learn to use a chain tool to break the old chain, to remove and install your rear wheel and sprocket, remove and replace your front sprocket, install the new chain and set the master link, and finally adjust the chain to proper tension.

If you don’t know if your motorcycle is ready for a new chain or sprockets stop by the shop and we can check and let you know.

No previous tool handling or motorcycle repair knowledge is required before taking this workshop. If you only want to learn the basics of how to adjust, clean, and lube your chain – you should sign up for our Intro to Maintenance first.

In this workshop you have a two options:
• Replace the chain only – $95
• Replace the front and/or rear sprockets and chain – $200

PARTS:
The cost of parts is NOT included in the price of the workshop. Moto Guild’s parts pricing is VERY competitive, request a quote/order parts.

Delivery of non-stocked items is usually 1 – 2 business days.
