Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Triumph, BMW, Ducati, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, KTM

Learn how to check and adjust your valve clearances, change spark plugs, replace the air filter and sync your throttle bodies or carburetors. Changing engine oil and coolant is permitted as well, however additional service items outside of these tasks will be considered extra and can only be done if time permits.

This is an ADVANCED workshop. We strongly request that if you are signing up to take this workshop that you have familiarity with working with basic tools and have done prior maintenance on your motorcycle. If not, we encourage you to take the Minor Service Workshop, or similar, first. We recommend that you can get to your valve covers on your own or by following the manual, with little guidance, which typically involves removing fairings, gas tank, air box, etc. The instructor is there to help and give pointers, but not hold your hand until you actually get to the valve covers – then the real work begins, and that is what this workshop is all about.

PARTS:
The cost of parts is NOT included in the price of the workshop. Moto Guild’s parts pricing is VERY competitive, and we stock...

Oil, Oil Filter, Spark Plugs, Coolant, and Valve Shims for most motorcycles and may be purchased at Moto Guild during the workshop. If you bring your own oil and oil filter there will be a $6 disposal fee due at the end of the workshop.

Please let us know (in the above “Would you like us to order parts for you?” box) if you would like us to order an air filter for your motorcycle. Delivery of non-stocked items is usually 1 – 2 business days.

We recommend replacing the valve cover gasket and other bike specific parts (such as cam belts) as part of this workshop, which may be purchased from the dealer or similar. After signing up for the workshop we will send an email with specific recommendations for your bike.

NOTE:
At this time we cannot accommodate the Aprilia RSV4, Kawasaki ZX-14/Concours, or most larger water-cooled Ducatis with DVT heads in this workshop (air-cooled models are usually okay). Please e-mail us with your exact model if you have questions if we can have your bike in the workshop, or you can inquire about a 1-on-1 appointment.

Due to differences in complexity between different engines, pricing depends on the number of valves/cylinders you have.
